COURSE CONTENT
You will study
Areas of Fine Art and Design in a range of materials/media in 2 dimensions and 3 dimensions.
Within each area you will combine knowledge, skills and understanding to:

Record from direct observations, experiences, ideas and imagination in forms that are appropriate to intentions

Analyse and evaluate images, objects and artefacts showing understanding of context.

Investigate and develop ideas using a range of media, processes, visual and other resources, reviewing, modifying and refining work as it progresses.

Present a personal response, realising intentions and making informed connections with the work of others.
ASSESSMENT

PART 1: Coursework - 2 units of work 60%
1 Unit: Fine Art, 2D or 3D
1 Unit Design 2D or 3D

PART 2: Externally set assignment 40%
EXAMINATIONS
For Part 2, the externally set assignment, you will be given 5-6 weeks preparation time followed by a supervised examination of 10 hours 30 minutes in length. This normally takes place in March of year 12.
COURSEWORK
You must complete 2 units of coursework showing evidence of the 4 main assessment objectives. The coursework your ability to create a Design Outcome and a Fine Art Outcome. One of these outcomes should be 2 dimensional and the other 3 dimensional.
