Home Economics

Home Economics is offered to pupils at Key Stage 3 - that is years 8,9 and 10. During this time pupils will have the opportunity to explore the 3 areas of Home Economics:

• Diet and Health
• Family Life
• Choice and Management of Resources

This equips pupils with the skills necessary for personal development and family life.

Pupils will do practical work 3 weeks out of 4.

Before completing Key Stage 3 pupils will sit their Foundation in Food Hygiene Certificate.

The Home Economics Suite has very recently been refurbished with brand new facilities and its own computer room.

It was opened in late 2001 by top TV chief Paul Rankin.
