Religious Education
Religious Education is taught from years 8 to 12. We cover topics such as Creation and Moses in the Old Testament at Key Stage 3 and progress to the New Testament at Key Stage 4
In Years 11 and 12 we study Jesus' teachings and Christian morality as part of CCEA Entry Level Religious Studies Examination that all pupils enter.
Our pupils learn in various ways - through debate, discussion, role-play, drama, ICT, use of multi-media and story boards. Literacy and numeracy skills are also in-cooperated into lessons. Pupils are assessed through meeting a series of clearly stated learning outcomes at the start of each lesson and a range of quantative and qualative assessments.
The Religious Education department at Castle High gives our pupils the opportunity to learn social skills such as Empathy, Tolerance and Respect for Others to ensure that they can evolve as citizens and interact positively in the workplace.
